During the peak hours (6AM-6PM EST), the speed between 1 MB/s and 5 MB/s could have been expected.

Also, there was a server speed test available; the 50MB file for testing purposes was provided.  The news server address was  news.cheapuse.net, available on the US-based server farm and on the port 119. Maximum off 10 connections were available.
