DogNZB.cr has an interface that will be easy to navigate for people who know Newznab. The site also has an active forum. Video, audio and other content is categorized by resolution, with a special section for foreign videos. DogNZB offers just what the name says, NZBs only, and doesn’t actually have any content on the site. You’ll have to have a USENET provider subscription to download any content using the NZB files from DogNZB.

Update: September 2014

Features

DogNZB currently has over 2,075 days of retention. The search feature is easy to use and allows for special search characters so that you can find exactly what you’re looking for by filtering. If you do find something that you like, you can bookmark it right on the site.

If you’re a member of the site, you get access to the API. This allows you to use DogNZB with programs like NZBDrone, Sickbeard and CouchPotato. The site also works with SABnzbd push. This requires a bit of router configuration, but users of SABnzbd might find that it makes it a lot more convenient for them to get the content that they want.

Users on the site report few problems. The watchlist feature has gotten praise from some users and seems to find and download content very quickly. If you’re interested in just looking around, the browse features are very easy to use and should provide plenty of content to get lost in if you can’t figure out exactly what you’re looking for.

Users get one invite six months after they’ve signed up for the site. Right now, however, invitations are frozen as DogNZB no longer accepts PayPal. The invitations should go back online as soon as a main payment method is set up at the site, but users can use bitcoin to get setup at present. The instructions are simple enough and using bitcoin is actually easier than it’s ever been.

Overall Impression

DogNZB definitely has a lot going for it. The bitcoin sign up option is a great feature for those who prefer to remain as anonymous as possible, of course. With a new main payment provider, the site should be opening up for registrations once more. If you have a friend on the site, they might not be able to invite you right now, but it’s definitely worth asking for an invite when DogNZB makes them available again. Content goes up quickly and is easy to access, and the site integrates well with PVR and other USENET software.
