Two sentences. That is all you will find once you enter the Newscene website. Actually, we see no reason why wouldn’t we do the same here. So, they are premium usenet news service with more than 53.000 groups available. Secondly, they offer very high degree of anonymity. That is basically it. No other information is provided are we are not here to contrive content.
Server information, retention and completion
As you have probably conceived, there is no much information of either of these. Actually, we’re lying. There is information that they provide the retention that equals 26 days for the alt.* groups (including binaries) and there’s also information that the retention for non-alt.* (most text groups) equals 45 days. If you consider these retention times, maybe it would be better if we didn’t mention them at all. Oh, by the way, the actual retention depends on article volume and the latest information is dates from 3/18/2007. Regarding the servers, it appears that there is only one server farm located in the USA and the SSL encryption is not available. The server is available on the news.newscene.com address.
