Newshosting Newsreader Client Released – No More Beta Versions

One of our top Usenet providers, Newshosting, has been playing around with their newsreader client for the last few months, and finally they have taken it out of the beta version. The new version, 1.2.1 of the browser has a lot of great features that their customers have had input into, so it’s likely to be a fully featured client. According to the release notes on the new version, scheduling, pause and resume, and NZB’s are supported.

The Newsreader Details

There are a lot of improvements, bug fixes, and updates, so many we can’t list them all here, but here are a few of the most notable:

  • The newsreader is totally free to all their customers.
  • A search is integrated into the client.
  • Thumbnail views are supported for both video and pic files.
  • Search results can be filtered according to size, poster, type, or even adult content can be filtered out.
  • Scheduling supported, and bandwidth and download priority can be controlled.
  • NZB importing supported via drag and drop, and by monitoring specified files.
  • Individual downloads can be paused and resumed, or according o the scheduling you have created.
  • Versions for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

There are a lot of other technical repairs, improvements, and add-ons, but as we said before, there just isn’t enough room to list everything. To get the client, all you have to do is log into your Newshosting account, cruise over to your control panel, and start looking for the download link. Once you have the client is downloaded and installed, simply log into your account using the client, and the configuration is complete.
