Alt.binz Review 2020

Last Updated: Mar 02, 2018

Here is a very popular Usenet reader that will give you an older version of the client for free, and will allow you to download the updated full version with a minimum donation. The client comes with a full set of tools, an interface that is highly customizable, and will allow you to look into and expand your downloads.

As we said there are versions of the client that are free, but a minimum donation of €17 (Euros,) once, will get you all the upgrades and updates available. The old versions have plenty of features and tools, sure, but updated versions have a lot more tools, features, and functions for you to play with.

Main Features And Highlights Of Alt.binz

  • Full support for several search index engines, including NZBIndex, Newsleech, and Binsearch among them.
  • Scheduler is powerful, and automatic un-pausing of downloads is supported.
  • NZB’s are fully supported, and XPAT server side search is supported, too.
  • Multiple servers in the same session supported.
  • Expand/collapse downloading batch files.
  • Fully customizable interface to keep the most used functions at your fingertips.
  • Automatic unpacking and repairing or the RAR files you download.
  • With your €17 donation more features, functions, and gain access to their contributors section of their forum.
  • Support is through forum. Plenty of seasoned Alt.binz veterans in here to solve any problems you may have.

And, for all those loathe to use the Windows operating system, there is a Linux version…but sadly, not a Mac. You will need a distro that has Wine though, but many do, if yours doesn’t yet many support it. Check the repositories.

Alt.binz Summary

We were happy with the way this client worked. Integration with the search indexes was nice, and the fact that we could use multiple servers at the same time pleased us. If the system crashes there is also an auto-save function that will insure that your downloads won’t lose their place and have to start over from scratch.

A very nice for guys like us…not often, but once in a while necessary. We recommend that you try the free version, and if you like it, go ahead, make the donation and open up all the other goodies.
