A new kid on the block that we found quite refreshing. A search index well worth checking out.
A new NZB indexing site on the scene, NZB.su has both free and paid access. With NZBS.org no longer taking new members, this has been an excellent alternative, and NZB.su has received great reviews from these potential NZBS.org members, and many others.
There are three types of accounts at NZB.su, one free and two paid. Here’s how it works:
Downloading NZB’s shouldn’t be a problem for even a new user. There are a few nice filters in the search, plenty of categories, and the layout of the forums is comfortably familiar. If you are there for several NZB at the same time, there is the option of combining all of the files into one single download.
Nicely, NZB.su integrates with the most popular software out there presently. SABnzbd integrates well into the search site, as does Sickbeard. For those on a Linux Debian distro, you will be able to integrate Couchpotato easily also. In the forums we didn’t notice that many issues being reported with any of the client integration. For tutorials on how to integrate any of these clients, check out their “Help” section.
Even though Nzbs.org stopped accepting memberships, they do appear to be maintaining an online presence. This, in spite of the statement made by the site administration a few weeks ago. Replacing this service could prove to be difficult for many. NZB.su is one of few options that the users have, unless they develop their own index using the same open source software, NewsNab. In theory, if you had a server with enough oomph, you could run your own USENET index server on a private basis, no third party required.
If building your own USENET index server is a little beyond the effort you are willing to make, then NZB.su should catch your eye with the features, forum, and index they have.
